Some FAQ’s for this trip

VISA: You require a visa to enter India.

One needs to get the India visa BEFORE landing in India, as one cannot get it on arrival. You can apply online for an e-visa a minimum of 7 days prior to arrival (since it can get a bit complicated, we suggest 7 days rather than the official 4!!)


You don't require any prior vaccination but we advise that you carry malaria pills

Food and drink:

Generally eating at regular restaurants/hotels is fine. Drinking bottled water is a MUST and please DO NOT add ice to your drinks!

Check In Baggage on domestic flights:

Check in Baggage allowance on all domestic flights is 15 kgs per person.

Getting There:

JAIPUR: Jaipur is served by a few international airlines mainly from the Middle-East and some from South-east Asia: Abu Dhabi, Bangkok, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Muscat and Sharjah.

DELHI**: About 250 kms from Jaipur, has almost all the main international airlines flying operating here. It is a great place to stop/ break the journey for a few days or more (places of interest below).One can stop in Delhi for a few days or stay overnight (since most arrivals into India are late at night).

The next morning you could either drive to Agra (4 hrs) visit the Taj Mahal, Fatehpur Sikri (90 mins from Agra, enroute to Jaipur) and proceed to Jaipur (4hrs), all in a day!! Or, you could simply take the train/flight/car for Jaipur the next morning (details below).

** The Delhi air can be polluted during this time of the year due to the stubble burning by farmers in the surrounding region.

MUMBAI: About 1200 kms from Jaipur, is served by most international flights. Is a nice break point, you could visit the Elephanta Caves, walk around on Marine Drive. If you have a few more days, one could visit the Ajanta/Ellora caves in Aurangabad. Flying is the most convenient way to travel from Mumbai to Jaipur (4 flights a day).

Places of interest in Delhi

Old Delhi Market, Jama Mosque, Red Fort, Qutab Minar, Raj Ghat, Humayun's Tomb, Sunder Nursery, an evening listening to Qawwali at Nizamuddin Dargah (Shrine/Tomb of Hazrat Nizamuddin), Lotus Temple, Chhatarpur Temple.

You could also go on a group/a private Heritage walk to the following places :

City Palace, Sun Dial, Amber Fort, Jaigarh Fort, Nahargarh Fort, Drive past Jal Mahal, visit Hawa Mahal, Zohri Market and Bapu Bazar. Block printing museum, block printing workshop, cooking workshops, blue pottery painting workshop

Delhi to Jaipur

Road (5 hrs): Cost of a vehicle with driver (seats 4) for a one way transfer is approx. USD 150.00

Flight (70 mins): There are a number of flights (5-6 between 0500hrs and noon and a couple in the evening). Fares start from USD 60.00 per person.

By Train (4 ½ hrs): Though there are a number of trains on this route, there are a couple of faster ones, one in the morning and the other in the evening. Cost is about USD 15-USD 30.00 for 2nd AC and 1st AC, respectively.

Ajmer Shatabdi: Departing from New Delhi Station at 0605 hrs, arriving in Jaipur at 1030hrs

JP Double Decker: Departing from Delhi Sarai Rohilla Station at 1735hrs, arriving in Jaipur at 2205hrs.
